firmware yesterday, before the update I was able to use hdmi to dvi from
receiver to tv and get a picture with the exception of the PS3. I ended
up hooking the ps3 via components straight to the tv bypassing the AVR
354. My regular DVD player worked when hooked up to the receiver through
component then from reciever HDMI to DVI on TV. Now with the new
firmware I don't get any picture on anything when hooked from HDMI on
reciever to DVI input on TV. All I get for video on tv is white snow. I
disconnected the dvi on the tv and reconnected it while the avr was on
and the picture came on, but when I switched sources on the avr remote
the snow would come back on. This is definately a firmware problem as
the hdmi to dvi worked before the upgrade (except for the ps3 of
course). I have now set the video output from the avr to component out
to component in on the tv and that works like a charm.
Here is their response:
Good morning and thank you for your inquiry. I can understand your
concern. We are aware of this problem and are working on an updated
software release that will solve the issue. We expect that update to be available by December.
In the interim, may I suggest that you use a
component video connection between the source and your AVR. This will
provide full HD output until the software fix is completed.
I hope this helps.
