I want to buy this TV from my country but I have few questions first even if I read about 40 pages from this forum:
I want to mention that I'm a pretentious person, my actual TV is a 42" LCD.
1) I want to buy this TV especially for football. What is football looks like? Can anyone show a short video from a HD source? Those 100hz make the difference vs 50hz when whatching football?
2)I noticed a lot of you are talking about banding test. is that a big problem for a non pretentios eye?
3)Is there any other 4k TV's with 100hz at similar price?
Thank you
Football matches are very smooth and in comparision to my previous Sony KDL-40HX750 they look much better and run very well.
I'm not a fan of Perfect Natural Motion (PNM), but for football this setting is great, I watch matches witch Clear LCD On + PNM Minimum.
However, I cannot argue with the effect of so called banding, yes, it is visible. I asked my roommates if they see anything strange while watching a match and they did not notice the banding. I told them about this potential effect during the second half and after a while they noded that there are some stripes 'behind the scene'.
So it generally depends on your eye sensitivity and..knowledge about the banding. I did not notice it personally until I saw posts on this forum.
I think that you should really bring a fragment of a match and banding test (those are accessable on youtube) on your pendrive and see it personally in a market.
Some people decided to return the TV because of the banding, others do not really notice it, so it's a matter of a personal taste and eye sensitivity.
As for the third question, I think that there are not other 100Hz 4K TVs in this price (49" 6561, ~2900 zł and ~2680 zł on sale, Saturn for example), which is ~$690 / ~$638.
It's actually the cheapest 4K, 100Hz TV but undoubtedly it has its problems which are mentioned in the thread. I would also like to add that the black depthness is pretty average, it's more like a 'navy' colour, but that's a specification of IPS LCD (LED) TVs generally, if you look at some LG IPS models it will be similar. OLED is the solution for that, but well..the prices are totally different.
Do I like the TV? Yes, even if I criticize it in this thread.
Would I recomment the TV to huge football fan? No, because the 100Hz does not come before the banding effect.
