NEC, znany do tej pory z oferty sprzętu profesjonalnego, będzie oferował od końca kwietnia telewizor plazmowy model T2000, który zdecydowanie można nazwać „HD Ready”. Jest to, po T1000, drugi kompletny telewizor plazmowy w historii NEC’a.
Nowy model wyposażony jest w panel o przekątnej 42 cali, ale w odróżnieniu od poprzednika, posiada on rozdzielczość 1024 x 768.
Telewizor obsługiwać będzie systemy: PAL (BG, DK, I, L, L') / SECAM/NTSC 4.43. Posiada rozbudowaną funkcję PIP, a w zasadzie PAP, teletext z pamięcią 5000 stron, wejścia DVI i HDMI. Wygląd T2000 będzie zbliżony do poprzednika, modelu T1000, natomiast cena oscylować będzie wokół 2500€.

NEC recently announced their new line of high definition Plasma displays – the XM series consisting of the 42-inch PlasmaSync 42XM2, the 50-inch PlasmaSync 50XM3, and the 61-inch PlasmaSync 61XM2.
