So... What is Ambilight?
Basically, Ambilight is a special technology developed by Philips and I think only a handful of the high end Phillips LCD TVs use this technology. The Ambilight technology generates light around the LCD TV that correspond to the video content and hence creating better graphic and more immersive viewing experience. According to wikipedia, Philips even claims that the Ambilight technology can reduce eye strains.
So, what kind of Ambilight?
Do you know that Ambilight technology comes in many version? Most of the LCD TVs do not state what kind of Ambilight technology they are using.
Ambilight Mono or Ambilight 1 - same light effect at right and left, no light effect at top and bottom
Ambilight Stereo or Ambilight 2 - right and left have different light effect, no light effect at top and bottom
Ambilight Surround or Ambilight 3 - right, left and top have different lighting effects, bottom has no effect
Ambilight Full Surround or Ambilight 4 - right, left, top and bottom have different effects
Ambilight Spectra - the most powerful Ambilight technology developed by Phillips. But, the problem is... I can't see much difference.

Mam do wyboru 8404 lub 7605. W Pierwszym Spectra 1 w drugim Spectra 2.
Czy te systemy istotnie się różnią ? Miał ktoś okazję porównać " na własne oczy"
Już byłem praktycznie zdecydowany na 8404 ale okazuje się że ma na 99% spectrę 1
Nie masz racji. wersja 8404 w 47'' ma Spectra 2
Chyba tylko napis na kartonie
, bo ja też go miałem.Chyba tylko napis na kartonie
W sklepie sprawdzali - na kartonie miałem samo spectra (bez 2). Na stronie philipsa pisze jak byk że 8404 ma "jedynkę".
Na forum czytałem że najpierw poszła produkcja z 2kami a potem z 1nkami
Mam pytanko: Czy ambilight ma jakiekolwiek zastosowanie w przypadku gdy:
1 - telewizor stoi na stoliku pod TV
2 - telewizor stoi w przeznaczonej do tego celu wnęce w meblach
Zastanawiam się (między innymi) nad 32pfl7605 i 32pfl5605, gdzie jedną z podstawowych różnic jest właśnie ambilight... Kwestia zastanowienia czy za to światełko i lepszy resolution warto płacić 200 pln więcej...
